TEXAS LYCEUM POLL

To better understand public opinion, The Texas Lyceum commissions an annual survey on the critical issues issues facing Texans. The mission of the Lyceum Poll is straightforward: Produce a professional, nonpartisan, high-quality, scientific survey that provides the public with:

  • Specific data points on issues of interest
  • A time series of key demographics, attitudes, and opinions

The trademark of the Lyceum Poll is its transparency. All top-line and detailed cross-tabular results for each poll are published on the Lyceum website.

The 2023 Lyceum Poll

The 17th Annual Texas Lyceum Poll was in the field  January 6-12, 2023, with the purpose of providing supporting information for the topics the Lyceum will host conferences on throughout the year. For the January conference, A Look at Elections, this year’s poll reflects back on the 2019 Lyceum Poll focused on democracy in the United States. The poll also includes measures of attitudes about women and gender equality to support the April 2023 conference, The state of Texas Women, and, as always assessing the overall mood of our economy and growth in the state. The poll also includes the attitudes of political figures in Texas.

It is the expectation that the survey will provide policy makers, the press, and the public with scientifically collected information to inform future policy well after the conference.
