(AUSTIN) — The Texas Lyceum will install Molly Quirk as President and also swear in 22 new Directors on Friday, Jan. 19 in the House Chamber of the Texas Capitol.

The Texas Lyceum is a nonpartisan, nonprofit leadership organization that helps identify future leaders from across Texas and provides a forum for a civil discussion of challenges facing the state. The Lyceum brings focus to issues of importance through a series of conferences throughout the year.

Quirk, of Austin, leads business development and client services in Central Texas for Ardurra, a national engineering firm that specializes in governmental infrastructure. Additionally, she has a legislative consulting firm and a photography business. A graduate of the University of Texas, Quirk served on the staffs of several members of the Texas Legislature and worked as Director of Governmental Affairs for the Texas General Land Office under then-Commissioner George P. Bush. She also serves as Mayor of the Village of San Leanna. Born and raised in San Antonio, she attended Alamo Heights High School.

Outgoing president Reda Hicks of Houston will move into the role of Chair of the Lyceum’s Board of Directors. Crayton Webb of Dallas will serve as President-Elect and lead the organization in 2025.

Also 22 new Directors will be sworn in at the January 19 investiture ceremony, which will begin at 4 p.m. Over the course of 2024, Lyceum Directors will gather for conferences focused on water, the industry behind entertainment, and the state of mental health in Texas.

On April 4-6, the Lyceum will hold its Public Conference, which is the only conference of the year open to the public. This year’s Public Conference theme is “Mission Control: Texas’ Leadership in Space, Technology, and Innovation.” Also at the Public Conference, the organization will release results from its annual statewide poll.

In addition to hosting conferences and publishing its poll, the Texas Lyceum partners with higher education institutions to offer a statewide fellowship program that promotes research-driven solutions at the highest levels of state government.  For more than 40 years, The Texas Lyceum has focused on bringing together diverse opinions and expertise to emphasize constructive private-sector, public-sector and individual responses to the issues facing the state and the nation.
