COLLEGE STATION, TX−The Mosbacher Institute for Trade, Economics and Public Policy is pleased to announce the selection of Ashley Thomas, Bush School Master of Public Service and Administration degree candidate, as the inaugural Texas Lyceum Fellow for 2018. The Texas Lyceum is an independent, nonpartisan institution dedicated to cultivating the state’s young leaders and promoting research-driven solutions to policy issues in Texas. The 2018 fellowship will support summer research on health policy issues in Texas.

(AUSTIN) After wrapping up one of their most attended and most discussed on social media public conferences last month, officials with The Texas Lyceum today announced that Renard U. Johnson of El Paso, President and founder of Management and Engineering Technologies International, Inc. (METI) has been sworn in as their 2017 President. In addition, the non-profit, non-partisan premier leadership organization announced 16 new Lyceum Directors were selected (see list below) to join the organization, which is focused on cultivating the next generation of Texas leaders by engaging them in a wide range of timely public policy topics generating dynamic, yet respectful debate.

AUSTIN—The Texas Lyceum, the premier non-profit, non-partisan statewide leadership organization, will convene its 31st Public Conference with the topic “What is the Proper Role of Government?” on Friday, January 27th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Austin, Texas. The conference will feature officials from all tiers of government, influential business leaders as well as members of the judiciary. The Texas Lyceum conducts periodic public forums, commissions The Texas Lyceum Poll, and convenes programs for its 96 directors to explore and discuss key economic and social issues of the state and nation.
