Welcome to Houston, where the Lyceum will explore the current state of innovation and related policy in several key segments in Texas including civic innovation, transportation innovation, energy innovation, and biomedical innovation.
The Lyceum is working with City of Houston and Harris County leadership, the Greater Houston Partnership, the Baker Institute at Rice University, leaders across major industries in Texas as well as social good incubators like Sketch City to curate content for this important policy discussion.
Texas: State of Innovation will explore some of the state’s specific economic engines, but will also look more broadly at the key factors that impact the process by which innovation is put into motion transforming communities, industries, and the way people live life. These factors include: the policy tensions of change; the impact of technology or information gaps on implementing innovation; resource constraints that impact innovation; and how human capital fits into the innovation equation.
Our aim is to provide an overall look at the opportunities and challenges of innovation, as well as robust discussion from industry leaders on changes occurring in their segments, what adapting to that change looks like, and the primary constraints related to change from a policy and resource perspective.
