Do our politicians simply reflect the loudest and most strident voices among us? Is the Great State of Texas (or the United States for that matter) more polarized than ever before? If so, is there anything that can or should be done about it? The Texas Lyceum will unpack this topic at its spring meeting amongst the bluebonnets and beautiful Hill Country of Texas!
This meeting will focus on polarization by exploring topics such as redistricting, legislative rules, the Party primary structure, consultants, "dark money," media coverage of politics and the news in general. All of these things contribute to our choices as voters and the decisions politicians make on our behalf.
The ultimate question is: Do we REALLY get the policies and politics we deserve? Join us in Fredericksburg on April 24-26 where we endeavor to find out!

King rooms and two queen bed rooms are at the Lyceum rate of $99 for Thursday night and $159 for Friday – Saturday nights. King Suites (includes a sleeper sofa) are at $119 for Thursday night and $179 for Friday and Saturday nights. The hotel has a two night minimum reservation policy. Call by April 1, 2014 to get the Lyceum rate.
